We collect what the app needs to work, and nothing else. No advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no trackers. We do not sell your data.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Phone number | Your account. Internally it is mapped to a synthetic @ballansi.so address for sign-in — we send no SMS. |
| Name, gender | So a shop knows who is in the line, and so you see relevant services. |
| City, district | To show shops near you. |
| GPS location | Only with permission, to measure distance. Decline and the app still works. |
| Bookings, queue entries | The service itself. |
| Reviews | Public, under your name. |
| Messages with a shop | Visible to you and that shop only. |
| Profile photo | Optional. |
| Push token | To tell you when your turn is near. |
| Ratings shops give you | After a service that completed, a shop can rate you 1–5 with an optional note — the mirror of you rating them. |
| Your reliability record | Bookings completed, no-shows and cancellations, counted from your own bookings. |
| Verification documents | Only if you apply to be verified — the documents and exam reference you send us. |
| Shop details, hours, services, staff, photos | For shop owners — this is what customers see. |
What we don't
- No payment data. You pay at the shop.
- No location tracking outside the app.
- No access to your contacts, photos or messages.
Who can see it
Data sits in Supabase (Postgres) behind Row Level Security policies. Those rules are enforced by the database, not by app code — if the app gets it wrong, the database still refuses.
- You — your own data. Nobody else sees your account.
- A shop you booked with — your name, service and time, plus a short reliability record: your average rating, how many bookings you have completed, and how many you did not turn up for. It sees the average only, never what another shop wrote about you, and never anything about money. A shop you have never booked or queued with sees none of this — the check is made by the database, not by the app.
- Other people — your public reviews only. Queue names are private; outsiders see counts.
- Our team — only for support or abuse investigation.
Processors
- Supabase — hosting.
- Apple / Google, via Expo — push delivery.
- Apple / Google Maps — only when you open the map.
Ratings
Rating works both ways. You can rate a shop after a service, and a shop can rate you after one — in both cases only for a service that actually finished, and only once. Neither side can set a rating by hand, and neither can delete one they did not like.
You can always read what has been written about you: ask us and we will send it, or see it alongside your data on request.
Your rights
- Edit your details at any time.
- Request a copy of your data.
- Request deletion — email support@ballansi.so. Done within 30 days.
- Turn off notifications in your phone's settings.
After deletion, past bookings and reviews may remain anonymised so a shop's own records stay complete.
Children
Ballansi is not for children under 13. If we learn an account is, we delete it.
Changes
The date above changes with the policy. Anything significant is announced in the app.
